Members of this ministry reach out to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass or participate in parish activities, helping them remain connected to the life of the parish. Visits may include bringing Holy Communion or spending time together in prayer and companionship. The frequency of visits is determined collaboratively by the homebound individual, their caregiver, and the St. Luke minister.

While you do not need to be a Eucharistic Minister to serve in the Homebound Visitation Ministry, a deep reverence and respect for the Eucharist is essential. Training and instruction are available for those who wish to bring Holy Communion to the homebound.

Often, when parishioners return home after a hospital or rehabilitation stay, the parish may be unaware of their needs. Please notify the parish office if you know someone who is homebound. For more information on volunteering for this ministry, please call the parish office 330-758-2325.
