Vocations Support Society of Youngtown (VSSY)

In conjunction with the Office of Vocations of the Diocese, the VSSY works to "encourage young men and women to live as faithful Catholics, and to invite them to thoughtfully discern their vocations, whatever God may be calling them to do." This call may include a life of service in the priesthood, religious or consecrated life, permanent diaconate, or lay ecclesial ministry. The VSSY also encourages Catholics to develop an attitude of appreciation and continued encouragement for those clergy and religious already offering their lives in service to God. A.C.T.I.O.N. / Mahoning County

Why Should You Invest?

A.C.T.I.O.N. is a faith-based organization made up of leaders from congregations and organizations in the Mahoning Valley working in concert to improve life in our region.

  • We believe the need to unite faith communities to bring about social and economic justice is the core of how we practice our own faith.
  • We believe that by embracing the tools of community organizing and acting collectively on our values in the public arena, we can improve the lives of the people in the Mahoning Valley and across the region.
  • We believe by developing skills and relationships, working to surface the concerns of our constituents, democratically determining issues, and acting together in the public arena; we can make our community more like the kind of place we want it to be and expect it to be, as people of faith living out our values and beliefs.

With your help, A.C.T.I.O.N continues to make a difference.
